Katie Davis is this week's winner of the High's Hero Award. I have never met Katie but have heard about her from numerous people who, like me, have been impressed by her incredible faith at such a young age.

Three years after graduating from Ravenwood High School, Katie Davis would never have expected that she’d be living in Africa with her 14 adopted children.
Just 21 years old, Katie now calls her home Uganda where she’s raising 14 adopted girls ages 19 months to 14 years old. Their names are Prossy, Agnes, Margaret, Helen, Sarah, Mary, Scovia, Tibita, Zuula, Joyce, Sumini, Grace, Jane and Patricia. Katie speaks the native language, Lugandan, and is learning Swahili, but she also speaks English there.
“I wanted to go to India and was fascinated with Mother Teresa.” she says of her journey. “India didn’t work out but I felt like God wanted me to experience the mission field. I Googled orphanage and found Uganda.”
